Today I discovered two fraudulent checks had been written and cashed on one of my bank accounts. One cleared on the 4/14/2008 written to "DCL-ENV, Inc." for $19.95 and one cleared yesterday 4/22/2008 written to "Three, Inc." for $19.75.
This is on an account I have never written checks on. So I did some research online and found others complaining about this happening to them too. Another name mentioned is "eSafe". It is rumored that GreenZap has something to do with this, but I don't know that for sure.
I would suggest that you keep an eye on your bank account, especially if you've done any business with GreenZap, just in case that is true. I don't remember giving Greenzap my bank info, but I did send them a check and all information needed to print a check and cash it is on any of our check's.
I have to file some paperwork with my bank to dispute the checks. I also have to close my account because they said they can't stop further checks without knowing what check number they'll use. Which seems odd to me since I told them I don't write checks on the account so anything that comes through would be fraudulent.
In any case, I just wanted to give you a "heads up" to watch your bank account.
~ Robbin
Update: After closing my account, the 2 amounts were credited into another account by my bank within 2 days. I still don't know anymore about them.

Hey, thanks for the tip. Excellent information.....as usual!
Hi Robbin,
Greenzap is just horrible! They did the same thing to me. It was an unauthorize withdrawal for $39.90 from my checking account. The business name Greenzap used was MiPayments.biz and Mahzuma.com so I wouldn't know that they did it. I had to research online to link the names.
I had to close my checking account
So they wouldn't do it again!
Beware of Greenzap!!!
Thanks Robin. Sorry that happened to you and it's great that you passed on the warning to others.
Thanks for passing on this warning, just goes to show how easy it is for Robbers like those to take money off unexpecting victims.
Just glad for you the cheques were not for Larger amaounts
File a complaint, get a copy of the check, and forward to your local FBI office. They are building a case against GREENZAP and the affiliates. Don't back down, FILE THE COMPLAINT!
The same thing just happened to us in North Carolina. A fraudelent check written for the same amounts to the same "DCL ENV, Inc and Three, Inc. We have to close our bank account and start over.
I am So Glad to have people looking out for others. I just had it happen to me and I wrote them a nasty e-mail. U can contact greenzap at customercare@greenzap.com
I told them to return my money or be reported to BBB or to whomever I can to get them shut down.

Hi Robin I just discovered those 2 same unauthorized checks in my checking account yesterday. I went to the bank closed my account opened a new one and needed to file a police report. I live in Seattle WA. I bet this was all done online and the banks were hacked maybe. I did not have my checking account number on Green Zap. I looked at Greenzap and I am still there. Not sure how they got my number. If we had something to do with Greenzap it's happening to us. I am going to see if I can delete my GreenZap account. I always thought they were crooks.
Take care.

Same thing happened to me a check for $19.95 to DCL-ENV cleared my account. I also had a check clear from Mahzuma.com and had to go to my bank to clear it up. I have not closed my account yet, but it may just be worth the hassle. Thanks for the heads up!
You should check your account for any echecks, not just the ones for $19.x. I had one that was for an even $100 which is how I discovered they were doing this to me. They just got a little too greedy.
Had a devil of a time getting my bank to consider this fraud. They thought the solution was to cancel my account and open another. I had to call the vice president before I finally got someone to take this seriously.
You would think banks would take this type of fraud seriously. However, my bank's fraud department told me, "We don't have the resources to track something like this down."
What????
It took me a few minutes on the Internet to track down the FBI agent in charge of the open case in San Diego, the name of the owner of the 800# and who was behind this along with documentation to trace directly to the person and bank.
Yet, my bank with it's vast resources and the department who is supposed to specialize in fraud didn't know how to?
Anyway, keep your eye out for any echecks from anyone. They have several names their using and the amounts differ.
